Done Always With God's Spirit

Why Catholic

Youth Summit on October 25, 2015

As we experienced last year, this promises to be a high-impact spiritual experience for the youth of our diocese. Bishop Malloy will offer Sunday Mass as well as host a Question-and-Answer session with the teens. Confessions will be available, along with Adoration, inspirational talks and music. The cost for all teens is $25 and $15 for chaperones which includes lunch and a T-shirt for both teens and chaperones.

Exciting things are happening with the Steubenville Conferences!
Check out our website for information on next year's conferences (including dates, new Youth Conference locations, etc.), new videos, and the first stages of a website redesign. More to come!

Steubenville Fuel: a website from Steubenville Conferences with resources to keep the fire of faith burning!
It's hard to stay committed to your walk with Christ without support, so we created a ebsite just for that purpose. Steubenville Fuel is the new home for blogs, videos, podcasts, and more to help you keep the fire alive all year long. Keep checking in for new youth, young adult, adult, and group leader resources!

You have a voice . . . I-CAN

You go to Mass on Sunday. You go to retreats to deepen your faith. But what else can you do for your Church?

Get educated and involved on how the Church interacts with the state and federal governments. The Catholic Conference of Illinois (CCI) represents the bishops in issues affecting the Church at the state and federal levels.

In short, we’re your voice at the state Capitol. And we keep you updated with the following:

Illinois Catholic Advocacy Network (I-CAN)

I-CAN is a grassroots advocacy email network for you to stay updated on what’s happening with CCI. We ask for your email address and your home address – that’s so we know who your state lawmakers are. And if you want to contact your lawmakers about an issue affecting the Church, I-CAN lets you do that.

Last year, I-CAN members received email updates and alerts from the Catholic Conference of Illinois about:

  • Our efforts to get funding for the Textbook Block Grant for our Catholic schools.
  • Our attempts to successfully hold off legislation that would change the state’s definition of marriage from “between a man and a woman” to “between 2 persons.”
  • CCI’s work in attaining Temporary Visitor Driver’s Licenses for undocumented immigrants in Illinois.
