Annual Kick-Off
Wednesday, March 2, Aquin Catholic Schools will continue our partnership with SchoolMall.com,
which
is an online shopping program that gives money back to Aquin.

The program renews every year with a postcard campaign. Our school will receive $2.25 per completed booklet and up to 40% on all paid orders from this campaign. Online shoppers will ‘raise funds’ year-round for Aquin each time they shop. (The Diemer's favorite store is Nike.com which gives 8% back to Aquin each time we shop.)  And—an added bonus—you can use Scrip at many of the online stores!

Our SchoolMall account is open 24/7/365. Check out the site, register as a member (if you haven't already), select ‘Aquin Catholic Schools’ and start shopping and earning money for Aquin today!

How can I guarantee Aquin's success?
If the people who care most about our students and school are made aware of SchoolMall
they will be glad to help by designating our school when they shop.
The easiest way to let them know about SchoolMall is to send them a postcard.

The Friends and Family Postcard Campaign begins today and is as simple as this:
1. Each student takes home a booklet containing Postcards.
2. Parents and students address the postcards to family and friends.
3. Booklets are collected and sent to SchoolMall.
4. Postcards are mailed with information about shopping at SchoolMall. A special brochure is included offering family magazines and gift items for people who can't or choose not to shop online.
5. School receives student prizes and school profit check.

Guaranteed Money!
Aquin Catholic Schools receive $2.25 for each completed booklet.
Plus, we receive up to 40% profit from each SchoolMall order.

Why use SchoolMall?
No door-to-door selling!
No collection of money!
No delivery of products!
No cost to your school!
Prizes for Participants, Teachers and Classes!

What is SchoolMall?
SchoolMall is a first-class online shopping mall where any family, from anywhere, can shop from merchants like Office Depot, Sharper Image, JC Penney, Dell Computers and over 200 other leading national merchants. Aquin receives up to 40% of every purchase when any online shopper enters SchoolMall and designates ‘Aquin Catholic Schools’. The more people who know about SchoolMall, the more Aquin earns.
What can SchoolMall do for Aquin?
This year, over 100 million people will spend more than $165 billion shopping online. SchoolMall has helped schools raise over 50 million dollars. These shoppers are members of Aquin’s community including parents, relatives and Aquin alumni located all across the nation. Getting up to 40% on products that these shoppers are already buying will add up quickly to significant profits for Aquin.
Is there a cost to Aquin?
No. It is a free service to our school.
Is there a cost to become a member of SchoolMall?
No. This is a free service.
How much money do they give away?
Each vendor who sells products on their site has agreed to pay a commission on each item that is bought. SchoolMall takes a percentage of the commission generated to cover the costs of technology and to expand their services. The percentage that Aquin receives is based solely on the amount of goods purchased and from whom they were purchased. This amount is up to 40% of your purchase price, not including shipping, handling or taxes.
How can I get a great online shopping site to use SchoolMall,
so that my purchases raise money for Aquin?

Please send SchoolMall an e-mail at customer.service@schoolmall.com and let them know what company
you would like to see on their site. If you would like to have your products on their site,
please contact them via e-mail at customer.service@schoolmall.com.
What is their policy on privacy? They won't sell my name will they?
Absolutely not, they will not spam you or sell your e-mail address to other companies, like other websites.
They are dedicated to providing a seamless way for you to help Aquin. They will occasionally send you
an e-mail announcing new services or special product discounts.
Who handles shipping & handling, and returns on my purchases?
The retailer handles all issues concerning the delivery and return of your purchases.
How can I be assured that Aquin received my contribution?
SchoolMall utilizes the industry's most sophisticated tracking software available, thus providing
them with the capabilities to credit the participating schools.
Why do I have to start my shopping at SchoolMall?
If you do not start your shopping at SchoolMall, they have no way to track the percentage that should go to Aquin.
Remember, you pay the exact same price you'd pay if you shopped with their vendors directly,
but if you shop at SchoolMall, a percentage goes back to Aquin.
I'm uncomfortable giving my credit card information over the Internet. Is it safe?
Each of their vendors on their site offers leading edge security to protect your credit card information.
SchoolMall strongly urges you to check out each of their merchants' websites for complete security information.
Any other questions?
Drop SchoolMall an e-mail at customer.service@schoolmall.com and they will be happy to answer
any and all of your questions or email
laura.diemer@aquinschools.org with questions pertaining to Aquin.

Aquin Boosters
2010-2011

Who are the Aquin Boosters?
We are families and friends of Aquin who are dedicated to providing support for Aquin and its students.

What are some examples of support that has been provided by the Boosters?
In the 2009-10 school year, the Boosters contributed over $10,000 to the Aquin school system.  The dollars were used for academics, athletics and school operations.  Specifically:
· The Mary Kneller Scholarship
· New boys and girls basketball uniforms
· New warm ups for the basketball and volleyball teams
· Football weight program
· Signs for the gym and hallways
· ComEd payments for the football field lights
· Monthly payments to the High School

How do the Aquin Boosters raise the funds to spend on the variety of activities?
The Aquin Boosters raise funds by servicing the community in events such as Cruise Night, Music on Chicago and the Freeport Home Show, and by hosting the Aquin Flea Market. The activities take very little time and provide a great value to our students and our school.

Is the Flea Market continuing?
Yes.   The first Flea Market date is Sunday, October 3.  Jessi Curry is taking reservations from vendors and working with Mark Alden to have everything in place.  We are in need of 2 more individuals to help with the Flea Market on a regular basis—a half day’s commitment each month.

Specifically, we need 1 person to be at the Flea Market and welcome the vendors, collect their fees (if they haven’t paid in advance), etc.  This person would need to be at Aquin from 5:15am-10:00am.  We then need another person to be at the Flea Market from 10:00am-close (late afternoon).  This person would be available for any needs of the vendors or the patrons.  He or she would also be responsible for the ’closing’ of the Flea Market at the end of the day.

Set-up and tear-down of all tables associated with the Flea Market is also a responsibility of the Boosters.  An email or phone call reminds the Boosters of the event times and those that can show up, do.  If you can’t commit to every Flea Market, just come to the ones you can.  And remember the saying, ’many hands make light work’?  This would be a very good motto for the ‘before’ and ‘after’ crews.

The 2010-11 Flea Market dates are:
October 3, November 7, December 5, January 2, February 6, March 6, April 3 and May 1.

How do I join?
Every family enrolled at Aquin is automatically a member as we all want to support our students.  If you are interested in committing to a more specific role, please contact Booster President Kevin Skonieczny

How do I find out m
ore information?
