2009-10 Welcome!
We are excited to kick off our third year of Support Our Schools, or S.O.S. League. For those of you new to the system, or those that need a refresher, S.O.S League is comprised of Team Divisions. Contributing teams, or events, are divided into Major Teams, Minor Teams and Special Teams. Online tracking of each team’s expectations and the benefiting group will be posted monthly under S.O.S. League.

As in the past, we are giving each family a packet of S.O.S. League materials. Please keep this information to refer to throughout the year. It is posted below. Included in this packet are:

- Listing of the Aquin Catholic Schools Budget Departments 
- Quick calendar of events 
- S.O.S. League Request Form which must be filed with the Office of Marketing,
Development and Alumni Relations before any new team is added to the League 
- S.O.S. League Agreement which must be signed and returned to the Office of Marketing, Development and Alumni Relations by September 4, 20098

Our first Major Team of the school year is ‘DawgFest 2009'!  This event includes our 'Third Annual Walking of the Dawgs', our ‘Second Annual Colby Smith Memorial 4 Mile Classic’ and our 'First Annual Dawgie Bag Tourney'.  All events will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00am-3:00pm.  We look to you, our families, for our success.  Please remember that the events (and corresponding collections) of this day replace the magazine, candy and giftwrap 'Fall Fundraisers' of the past.  Collect pledges, earn donations through service or sales, or make a donation as a family.  To reach our goal of $30,000, each family needs to contribute $150 overall.  This can be done through the Walk, the Run, the Tourney or through other events at DawgFest (ie, concessions, games, tip jars, shirt sales, etc.),.  Entry forms for all events are here on the website. 

Education Department Note:  The State of Illinois has eliminated many programs that we were using, amoung them were the Illinois Textbook Loan Program and the Illinois Transportation Reimbursement.  The Illinois Safety Block Grant has been reduced from $36 per student to $9 per student.  Please support our fundraising to supplement these new area of need.  'DawgFest 2009' supports the Aquin Education Department. 

We look to your participation and support as we continue on this adventure for our system. Please give us your thoughts and suggestions as we continue to make the S.O.S. League the best it can be. We are all part of Aquin Catholic Schools and the development of future generations of Bulldogs.
