Responsibilities

Homework is due when I walk in the door, unless previous arrangements have been made. All papers turned in must have their name written at the top. Failure to do so will result in subtraction of a point off the total grade. Students are to be seated and ready to learn when class or lab starts.  On Mondays and Fridays students are responsible for taking care of all equipment and cleaning up after themselves in the lab.  Fourth through sixth grade students will be graded on behavior as well as academics.  Each day students can earn 0-4 points depending on their behavior (4-great, 0-unwanted).  If a student reaches a 1 or 0, parents will be contacted and they will be sent to the principal to discuss their behavior.  At the end of the week scores will be calculated and put into teacherease.

Classroom Rules

* Contribute to the learning environment

Discipline

First occurrence- students are given a verbal warning to correct the unwanted behavior.

Second/Third occurrence- students are sent to discuss their behavior with the principal and a note or call home is made.

Severe behavior could result in an automatic demerit along with disciplinary measures addressed in the student handbook.

Grading

A- 93-100 Excellent

B- 86-92 Very Good

C- 76-85 Good

D- 70-75 Below Average

F- 0-69 Failure

* Grades 4-6 are graded on their weekly behavior as well as academics. Outstanding behavior will earn a 4 for the day.  Students will be given one verbal warning to change their unwanted behavior, after that their score will be reduced a point each occurrence.  When a student receives lower than a 2 a call home is made and the student will also be sent to discuss their behavior with the principal.  At the end of each month their will be a prize awarded for the students who had outstanding behavior and at the end of the year a pizza party will be rewarded as well for the students who had outstanding behavior the entire year.
