SAFETY AT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP OF STUDENTS
When bringing your child to the Children’s Pre-school Center, please
· enter the St. Thomas parking lot using the second (North) driveway off of Pearl City Road
· park your car (do not park in a handicapped parking space) and walk your child to the sidewalk
· leave by the first (South) driveway off of Pearl City Road.
For the safety of the children, staff members are ready to greet the students ten minutes before the actual start of each session. The staff members will wait by the sidewalk where the parking lot begins nearest to the pre-school entrance. If the weather is inclement (raining, snowing, too cold, etc.), you are invited to walk your child to the entrance of the Children’s Pre-school Center or bring your child to the classroom.
When picking up your child, enter the same way as described above. Again, park your car and walk over and meet your child. For the safety of the students at dismissal time, staff members walk the students out of the building to where the parking lot begins.
On days when it is raining, the students will be dismissed from the church’s main doors under the canopy. You may drive there to get your child from the staff members. Parents and children are asked not to come to the classroom any earlier than ten minutes before the actual start of each session. Always let your child know who will be picking him/her up. It gives your child a sense of security. Moreover for the sake of safety, let the teacher know if someone else other than the usual person is picking up your child.
So basically, please remember:
· enter St. Thomas by the second driveway off of Pearl City Road
· leave by the first driveway off of Pearl City Road
· park your car
· walk your child to or from the sidewalk
Also, if someone else is dropping off or picking up your child (e.g. grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.), please tell that person about these drop-off and pick-up safety rules.
EARLY DROP-OFF AND LATE PICK-UP FEE
A child should not arrive any earlier than ten (10) minutes before the start of his/her school session. In addition, a child should be picked up no later than ten (10) minutes past the dismissal time of his/her school session. A $5.00 fee will be charged in the event that a child is dropped off earlier than the ten minutes before the beginning of the child's school session or not picked up ten minutes after the child's school session.
