Adam Wykes

Adam Wykes has taught 8th Grade Literature and Composition, 10th Grade English - World Literature, and 11th Grade English - American Literature. Outside of class, he serves Aquin Catholic High School as coach of the Academic Bowl team. Mr. Wykes is especially interested in:

  • Creative Writing - especially Science Fiction
  • Cultural Evolution - studied through comparative analysis of folktales, mythologies, urban legends, and literature
  • Preparing students for the rigors of collegiate writing, especially in the widely-used Modern Language Association (MLA) format
  • Preparing students for the challenges of textual communication in the digital age
  • Cognitive Science - as it pertains to our understanding of various literary tropes and ideas of creativity

He graduated from Illinois State University in 2008.
