Canada
Your children have been very busy learning about our neighbor to the north. We began by comparing the United States and Canada and discovering how we are alike and how we are different. We learned about Canada's flag. We have various types of the flags hanging in our room and in our hallway. There are 10 provinces and 3 territories in Canada. We have traveled to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and now we are in Nunavut. Along the way we have studied about the animals that live in each area. We have made beavers, raccoons, moose, and great horned owls. While at each province or territory, we also learn about the provincial flag and provincial bird. We also learn facts about each area like, major cities, industries, wildlife, recreation, climate, and some interesting facts. We discussed the Royal Canadian Mounted Patrol and the students had a project about them also. We are currently learning about the Inuit People and their way of life.
